Are you our new radiologist?
Helgelandssykehuset is seeking a specialist in radiology with MRI expertise for a full-time position. You have the option to choose your workplace in Sandnessjøen or Mo i Rana. Brønnøysund and Mosjøen may also be considered.
The units offer modalities including general radiography, fluoroscopy, CT, ultrasound, and MRI. In addition, we have a mammography unit that is subordinate to the Breast Diagnostic Center in Bodø. The clinic has a total of 11.2 full-time equivalent positions for physicians, with 3 being residency positions.
We have established a radiological on-call collaboration with Bodø. On weekdays after 8:00 PM, all urgent CT scans are sent to Bodø for interpretation. Radiologists at Helgeland cover until 8:00 PM and provide on-call coverage on Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
The units utilize Sectra RIS/PACS, a shared system with all hospitals in the Northern Norway Regional Health Authority.
Work assignments
- Interpret medical images including X-rays, CT scans, MRIs, and ultrasounds to diagnose medical conditions.
- Consult with referring physicians to discuss imaging findings and recommend appropriate treatments.
- Perform image-guided procedures such as biopsies and drainages under imaging guidance.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulatory standards in the operation of radiological equipment.
- Participate in departmental meetings, case reviews, and continuing education activities to maintain professional competency.
- Provide training and supervision to LIS1, and LIS2 (residents), radiologic technologists and other staff members as needed.
- Approximately 7-8 on-call weeks per year
- Norwegian specialist certification in radiology
