We have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual to join the Engineering Partner of choice Suir Engineering. Suir Engineering is part of the EDF Group with offices in Ireland, Denmark, Sweden, and Germany. We deliver leading edge next generation solutions to clients by designing, building, and installing Data Centres, Pharma and Medical Device plants and Renewable Energy Systems.

We are currently recruiting for a Quantity Surveyors on a full-time permanent basis to join our growing business. 

Overall Role Objective

The Quantity Surveyor will take full commercial responsibility and ownership for the project, working closely with the Contracts Manager/Project Manager and the construction team to ensure a successful project is delivered, while maintaining relationships and maximising commercial returns and managing risk.

What you will be doing?

  • Management and ownership of the commercial and contractual requirements through the life cycle of the project.
  • Responsibility for interface Client Commercial/Contract Team.
  • Project Procurement including Sub-contractors.
  • Conduct cost and risk analysis.
  • Review all incoming correspondence from Employers, Design Team and /or subcontractors, to identify contractually critical items and to initiate replies.
  • Manage commercial aspects of subcontractors.
  • Provide project costing, margin & cashflow reports.
  • Manage project change order procedures and agree costs with client.
  • Provide monthly valuations and certs.
  • Agree final accounts.

Is this the job for me?

Suitable Candidates must have a 3rd level qualification in Construction Economics / Quantity Surveying and 7+ years’ experience working as a quantity surveyor

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritise workload according to deadlines together with a high attention to detail.
  • Ability to influence colleagues at all levels.
  • Civil and Electrical experience desirable but not essential
  • Enjoy working as part of a high performing team.
