Pilot Plant Chemist / Organic Chemist – Process Chemistry R&D, CMC

Are you a highly motivated and skilled organic chemist, who has a talent for process chemistry – then we have the job for you at Lundbeck’s CMC API Pilot Plants at Sjællands Odde (approx. 1 hour from Copenhagen or 40 min from Roskilde).

 

As a Pilot Plant Chemist in Chemical Production Management, you will become part of Process Chemistry R&D within the CMC area. The team is responsible for implementation of new chemical processes from our development pipeline to pilot plant, as well as having the responsibility for manufacture of API (small molecule) for clinical trials. You will gain unique insights into the drug development value chain as well a broad network within the CMC organisation.

 

Your job

As our new Pilot Plant Chemist, you will be working closely together with the other highly skilled colleagues in the route design and safety chemistry laboratory, as well as synthetic technicians in the pilot plants. You will also be managing a broad network of stakeholders within analytical development, QA, engineering, and the health and safety organization.

 

Your main responsibilities are expected to be:

  • Implementation of new processes from laboratory scale to pilot plants
  • Preparation and review of documentation for GMP and non-GMP API manufacture
  • Support the daily operation of the pilot plant and troubleshooting
  • Handling of activities associated with maintaining the quality system of the GMP facilities 

 

You will work independently on smaller projects and tasks, as well as work in teams on larger projects.

This job is expected to provide valuable insights to process chemistry and drug development, while working in a dynamic and agile organisation.

Qualifications and competencies

Our preferred candidate has the following personal and professional attributes:

  • Preferably, you have a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry
  • You have a good understanding of organic synthesis
  • You enjoy combining theory with practical assignments
  • You are a team player, yet capable of individually driving for results  
  • You excel at planning and executing your work and strive to achieve deadlines
  • It is an advantage if you are familiar with GMP and SAP
  • You are agile and result-oriented
  • You are fluent in Danish (required for this position) and English
