Job offer description

Are you a registered nurse interested in an engaging and fulfilling role in a medical ward with a variation in your everyday work? Are you looking for a more calm lifestyle closer to nature? Then you might be the one we are looking for!

We are looking for registered nurses to Mora hospital in Dalarna who are experienced in caring for cardiology patients.

Mora is located in Dalarna County in central Sweden. Here we have a magnificent natural landscape with opportunities for various activities. We host Vasaloppet cross country race, attracting enthusiasts for skiing, cycling, and running. We are also in close proximity to the vast mountain world, offering downhill skiing, cycling and hiking trails. In Mora you will find beautiful lakes inviting you to an active boating, swimming, and fishing experience, both in summer and winter. Tourism is vibrant, not only from within Sweden but also from abroad.

Mora Hospital is a smaller acute care facility and the northernmost hospital in Dalarna, beautifully situated between the lakes Siljan and Orsasjön.

The Medicine Clinic at Mora hospital comprises three wards with different specialties. Ward 50 specializes in nephrology/gastroenterology, ward 62 focuses on cardiology and Ward 72 specializes in stroke/neurology.

Currently, we need to recruit nurses for the cardiology ward as we are in the process of taking over the hospital's telemetry monitoring. We also plan to introduce a monitoring unit for 3-4 patients requiring more intensive and advanced medical care such as Intermediate Care, and high-flow oxygen therapy. We have an exciting journey ahead where we see opportunities for all our team members to develop and be stimulated within their own workplace.

At the clinic we have internal training sessions each term for both nursing assistants and registered nurses. Moreover, we offer department-specific internal training. Our cardiologists and ward physicians are highly engaged in providing relevant healthcare-focused training sessions, both short-term and long-term.

In addition to cardiology patients, we also care for patients with diabetes, unclear infections, elderly patients with multiple conditions, neutropenic patients, and more.

On ward 62 you will gain broad knowledge in various diseases, care and treatment methods. Currently ward 62 has 16 patient beds and we work in two teams with one registered nurse and two nursing assistants responsible for eight patients. We also have dedicated night staff with one registered nurse and two nursing assistants for the entire ward.

We are committed to improving our work environment by reviewing our routines, work processes, and staffing levels. Our goal is to meet the national target where each care team is responsible for a maximum of 6-7 patients.

Additionally, we have two smaller outpatient clinics associated with us. One is a heart failure clinic staffed by a registered nurse who also assists us with heart care education and training, including CPR. The other is a hematology clinic staffed by two registered nurses who provide cancer treatments. They also assist with education on cancer care, including topics like neutropenia, central lines and hygiene.

We believe that offering development opportunities to our staff is the key to a successful department.

You apply by sending your CV and cover letter to career@regiondalarna.se

We are looking forward to hearing from you – send in your application today!
