The Advanced Development Department is responsible for deriving products and systems with focus on innovation, conceptualization, feasibility analysis and prototyping. The development builds on a strong analytical basis with expertise in technologies and architectures as well as the capability to develop new technologies in a short timeframe. To fulfill this mission we are looking to expand our team with a Mechanical Design Engineer. The Mechanical Design Engineer is responsible, with his or her team members, for generating and proving future technology concepts of innovative automatic transmissions and electric drivelines. You create mechanical architectures, components and systems, taking into account relevant manufacturing processes, and define and follow up testing for design validation.
Key Accountabilities :
Design or improvement of mechanical components and systems
Initiation and development of new concepts and architectures
Generate 3D models and 2D drawings in CAD (PTC Creo Parametric)
Design validation through FMEA’s, definition of test methods, and follow up of testing
Interact with internal departments including product development, purchasing, test center, etc.
Interact with external partners for development and manufacturing
Degree in Mechanical, Electromechanical or Automotive Engineering
Solid background in mechanical engineering and knowledge of manufacturing processes for transmission components
Effective in working cross-departmentally to facilitate product development
Knowledge of 3D technical drawings :
Analytical, structured and able to work independently
Knowledge of other related disciplines (electronics, controls, hydraulics,…) is an asset
