About the Department

The department develops and applies various cellular methods for measurement of drug bioactivity, molecular biology methods for characterization of cell banks, and ELISA based assays for in- process analysis.



We deliver analytical methods and results for the entire drug-development portfolio, within the fields of diabetes, haemophilia, and growth hormone therapy. We work in cross-organisational project groups and have a strong focus on quality, planning and optimisation of our workflows. Our ambition is to continuously deliver robust assays to ensure progress and success of our project pipeline.



The Job

During your internship, you will perform analysis laboratory work and provide support to our analytical laboratory and documentation processes. Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to interact with a wide variety of internal stakeholders. After the internship period there could be an opportunity to execute a Master Science Thesis in the department.



Qualifications

The intern we are looking for is passionate about molecular biology, biochemistry, microbiology and immunochemistry. Experience of analytical techniques such as e.g. ELISA, electrophoresis, PCR and enzymatic assays is an advantage. You are currently studying on your master’s degree in science (pharmacy, chemistry, chemical engineering or other relevant scientific discipline).



We expect the candidate to thrive in a busy environment and bring a can-do attitude. The candidate is expected to have sharp analytical skills and English writing skills. To be successful , you need a structured approach, have a critical eye for details and a mind focused on quality and enjoy working together with other people to make things happen. Finally, you must have strong work ethic and willingness to take responsibility for your own learning.



Practicalities

Requirement: Students in their first or second year of their master studies.

Period: The internship position is a full-time position for 6 months.

Start date: 1.Februar 2016.
