The Role & Department
To support our development of the Juventas satellite mission - part of the ESA deep space mission HERA - we are seeking versatile space systems software engineers. You will be working with our project team located in Esch-sur-Alzette, Luxembourg and Aalborg, Denmark.
The position is a project employment of 6 months. After project completion we might be able to offer a permanent employment at GomSpace.

Key responsibilities include
Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Validation of onboard software including Command and Data Handling and AOCS
- Robustness testing and development of Fault Detection, Isolation and Recovery (FDIR)
- Satellite operations development and validation in python HIL test framework.

- Ability to commit to the plan and deliver the expected results on time, or to report proactively if any deviations are foreseen
- Ability to rapidly expand application specific knowledge sets and skills where necessary and to quickly familiarize with new areas of responsibility
- The ability to work autonomously, and analytically, and be results-oriented
- Comfortable working in a distributed team, and well versed in using collaborative tools
We expect you will be able to work mostly at our premises, but some remote work is also possible.

Requirements
- Strong understanding of (C, python) software development, i.e. continuous integration, building, coverage, unit/system test
- Ability to navigate through diverse information and quickly connect the dots
- Experience with development of measurement and control systems
- Proficient in working with Linux, gcc, ld, USB, CAN, I²C, SPI
- Preferably familiarity with satellite equipment and architecture
