Position Overview

This position forms part of the International Accounting Group which plays a key role in supporting the worldwide consolidation process. This challenging role will require constant interaction with the Finance Department in various International Entities, US Finance and Consolidations Group, Tax Department, Treasury and Legal Department, Internal and External Audit and other relevant groups.  

 

The position will form part of the group who have responsibility for the following areas:

 

  • Month End Accounting
  • Preparation of month end management accounts for Head office entities
  • Reconciliation of intercompany accounts
  • Complete Intercompany netting exercise for various entities across International
  • Co-ordinate intercompany cross charges with the acquisition companies and issue instructions on the accounting entries that need to be made
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and checklists for the month end management accounts
  • Prepare journal checklist and ensure that it is saved together with journals and relevant backup
  • Prepare monthly Cash-flow analysis
  • Provide assistance to the Tax Department and Treasury Department on projects across International entities e.g. Intercompany Loan Program,  provide accounting entries for mergers and liquidations, assist with settlement of Intercompany balances and provide analysis as requested

 

  • Month End Consolidation’s work
    • Complete month end checks on all International entities to ensure that there are no issues before they are consolidated to the US
    • Liaise with International entities with any issues that arise on consolidation and provide assistance to have them resolved

 

  • Compliance
    • Complete statutory reviews for all International entities.  This includes reviewing the statutory reconciliations and ensuring that all entries are reasonable, ensuring that the notes and any other details given in the

 

 

 

  • accounts are reasonable to publish and giving the directors comfort that a satisfactory review has been performed before they sign the accounts
  • Maintain a calendar of all statutory due dates and ensure that these deadlines are met
  • Complete Statutory accounts for Dutch Head Office Entity, Ireland entities, Luxembourg entities and Malta Head office entity.  Liaise with auditors on the audit of these entities.
  • Complete tax returns and checklists for the Dutch Head office and Luxembourg entities
  • Complete CSO Returns for Irish operating entities
  • Prepare VAT return for Luxembourg, Ireland and Malta entities
  • Work with outside valuation companies to perform a valuation of the above entities as required.

 

  • SOX Testing
    • Complete SOX testing each quarter for the following areas:
      • Accounts Payable
      • Credit and Collections
      • General Accounting
      • Cost Accounting
      • Revenue Accounting
      • Revenue Operations
      • Payroll

 

  • SAP Systems work
    • Approve ART requests for access to GL for International
    • Setup the mass allocations journals as required for EFO entities and update as requested on a monthly basis.
    • Open the GL Period each month for all International entities
    • Complete GL Access review for all International entities on a bi-annual basis
    • Provide GL Training to new hires as requested
    • Setup GL accounts for parallel ledgers

 Qualifications/Work Experience

The successful candidate will be a:

  • Qualified accountant
  • Have a strong financial and technical accounting background preferably trained in practice.
