Core Responsibilities

As our new element designer you are curious and you constantly push yourself to the limit and challenge the people you work with. Your responsibilities will cover:



• Design and iterate new LEGO parts for future play sets in a 3D software

• Create prototypes of simple functions and elements (handmade and 3D printed)

• Work closely with engineers to deliver 3D CAD parts ready for production

• Create concept material, 2D sketches and 3D prototypes

• Perform in a team environment where feedback and sharing of ideas are core values

The Element Design Team 2 is one of the 4 element design teams at LEGO, which design new physical LEGO elements.

Our team is focusing on delivering new LEGO System elements in our portfolio, mainly for play theme and IP product lines. The work focuses on both Front End innovation and also Design For Manufacturing, covering all stages of the Design Development Process.

Do you have what it takes?

The ideal candidate comes with an industrial/product design education and an excellent understanding of manufacturing processes..

You are an excellent teammate with a positive attitude and enjoy taking the initiative. Your excellent aesthetic sense goes without saying. Furthermore, you:



• Have 3D CAD software skills - digital sculpting software experience would be a plus

• Have a minimum of 1 year of design experience from product or industrial design

• Have solid 3D proficiency in Rhinoceros 3D/NX or similar 3D modelling programs (digital sculpting a plus)

• Are capable of translating a 2D image into a 3D shape

• Have experience with collaboration across several functional areas

• Have a good understanding of and interest in mechanical functions

• Are proficient in English, both written and verbally



It is an advantage to have good freehand sketching skills as well as experience with Adobe based programs.

BRINGING IT TO LIFE

In this role you join approx. 9 colleagues in the Element Design team that designs toys through brands like LEGO NINJAGO, LEGO Minifigures, LEGO Star Wars, LEGO City - in a creative, international and teamwork-oriented environment.
