Job offer description

Being part of our F&B team you will need to:

  • Cleans food preparation areas as determined by law and company policy
  • Prepares food before the arrival of employees
  • Makes adjustments to food items to accommodate employees with allergies or specific diet concerns
  • Manages other employees in the kitchen
  • Acts as liaison to front-of-house employees to ensure proper food service temperature
  • Orders ingredients and spices as needed
  • Operates various kitchen appliance such as a blender, oven, grill, or stand mixer
  • Portions, arranges, and garnishes food based on employees’ preference
  • Devises new recipes
  • Estimates expected food consumption and organises preparation
  • Keeps records and accounts of food purchases
  • Orders new menu items for specials or cheap deals
  • Prepares any necessary sauces or accompaniments before meal service begins
  • Stays open until the last employee leaves
  • Cleans up after business hours
  • Communicates with owner and HR department about how to improve meal service
  • Alters dishes based on consumer suggestions or requirements

 

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Experience in using cutting tools, cookware and bakeware
  •  Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.)
  •  Ability to follow all sanitation procedures
  •  Ability to work in a team
  •  Very good communication skills
  •  Excellent physical condition and stamina
  •  High school diploma or equivalent; Diploma from a culinary school will be an advantageShould ideally have some   experience in stock taking or knowledge in food & beverage. 
  •  Minimum experience of 1-2 years in the same field 
  •  Should have a good ability to co-operate, be service- minded and be willing to resume responsibility  
  •  Speak, write and converse freely in both German and English. Knowledge of another language is an advantage. 
  •  Must be a computer literate
