Child and adolescent psychiatrist

100% permanent position as a child and adolescent psychiatrist in Mosjøen.

Helgelandssykehuset offers flexibility, allowing you to work in a combination of home office and on-site presence, with a distribution to be agreed upon.

We have extensive experience using digital tools like Teams and Whereby, which allow you to conduct patient treatments, attend meetings, and provide guidance. We are looking for someone who sees the possibilities of working this way and who wishes to contribute to the development of digital tools in the clinic.

BUP Mosjøen is a department with broad and interdisciplinary expertise, consisting of eleven employees in total. The team includes child and adolescent psychiatrists, specialist psychologists, psychologists, clinical child welfare educators, social workers, special education teachers, care workers, and a unit leader.

A positive work environment with a focus on well-being, safety, quality, and rewarding yet challenging tasks is a fundamental factor for a good workday. The patients and the quality of our work are also a primary focus for us.

We offer, among other services, cognitive therapy, psychodynamic child therapy, family therapy, trauma treatment through TF-CBT and EMDR. Hyperkinesis, depression, anxiety disorders, trauma, and autism spectrum disorders are the most common conditions referred to our clinic.

Work assignments:

• Specialized Psychiatric Assessment and Treatment
• Collaboration with municipal authorities
• Assist municipalities with counseling and guidance
• Be a part of the multidisciplinary team at the Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Outpatient Clinic (BUP)
• Guidance and supervision of residents
• Participation in intake and assessment of entitlement status
• Responsible for developing routines and procedures regarding medication treatment and medication administration in the department
• Participate in the interdisciplinary team for diagnostics (Axis 4), treatment, and evaluation of treatment effectiveness
• Medication treatment, including follow-up during hospitalization

Availability:
 

• The psychiatrist must be available for discussion of acute situations within the department in general, but especially in situations where medication treatment is a relevant issue. Available within one day.
• Diagnostic discussions, intake, and treatment evaluations require weekly meetings. Conversations with hospitalized patients in accordance with medical routines in the department. These will be conducted via Whereby during weeks when the psychiatrist is not physically present (weekly availability).

• Approved authorization as a child and adolescent psychiatrist in Norway
• Proficiency in Scandinavian languages, both spoken and written
• A valid police certificate must be submitted upon hiring

• Knowledge of DIPS Arena is an advantage
• Experience in clinical work within mental health and substance abuse, with children and adolescents, is preferred
