You will report to the Team Lead of Application Management team in Maersk Drilling and have daily collaboration with your colleagues both in the IT department, in the Technical Organization and Operations departments. As part of the Application Management team, you will play an important strategic role in transforming the application portfolio for the Technical Organization and Operations to better fit the business structure and ensure agility to support growth and process changes in our business.

Your initial main focus will be to understand our business, apply your business process and technology knowledge - and bridge them in a way that ensures the best possible support and implementation of our business strategy.

Your ongoing responsibility will be to advice business process owners within the Technical Organization and Operations on how to utilize IT tools to facilitate and further develop the business processes.





Key Responsibilities

You drive and conduct the dialog with the business process owners within the Technical Organization and Operation departments and ensure that the business requirements in our offshore and onshore locations are captured, documented and reflected in the applications. You advice our business process owners and other stakeholders on how the applications can maximize the outcome of the business processes and you ensure that the application development investments are assessed in regards to the expected benefits and in compliance with our change management process.



You are responsible for the whole Life Cycle Management of the applications and you do the expectation alignment securing that all the stakeholders share the same understanding of what their roles are in regards to applications maintenance and development.



You find it natural to be one step ahead of our business process owners in advising how Technical Organization and Operations can develop and create growth using IT.



You will act comfortably in the field between the business areas and IT where your high degree of integrity that makes it natural for you to challenge relevant stakeholders – always having in mind that everything we do must add value to our business.

You ensure that the application support delivers an excellent service to the users and you participate in and contribute to projects of various size.



In collaboration with your colleagues in the rest of the IT organization you proactively contribute to improving our working processes and ensure continuous focus on doing things better.



Also, you participate in handling of Major Incidents and coordinate the deliveries of the support teams.





Who we are looking for

You have a strong business process and application management background. An academic education combined with 5-10 years of experience within the IT consulting industry or an internal IT department in a global company. It is an advantage if you have a background in the engineering or offshore industry combined with a deep knowledge of IT. Your proven track record reflects your in-depth knowledge of business strategies - incl. business process improvement - and IT technology and more importantly how the latest one can benefit the first one. Moreover, it is an advantage if you have experience with IT governance frameworks like ITIL and you are certified in project management e.g. PRINCE2.

Desired Qualifications:

• Master degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Master of Business Administration, Information Systems or related field

• 5+ years of consulting experience with business processes, preferably from the offshore industry.

• 3+ years of Management experience.

• You will have excellent communication skills with hands-on experience working on component based applications in a distributed environment

• 3+ years technical lead or management experience

• Demonstrated ability to lead consultants in various project work streams

• Demonstrated project experience with regard to estimates, planning and deliverables

• Proven ability to understand a customer's needs

• Developed technical requirements based on business imperatives



You should have demonstrated strong knowledge in some of the following areas: Document Management, Knowledge Management, ERP, SharePoint, IFS, SAP or XRM



You are comfortable with acting in the field between the business areas of Technical Organization and Operations and IT, and have a high degree of integrity that makes it natural for you to challenge relevant stakeholders having in mind that everything we do must add value to our business.

On the personal level, you are a convincing communicator with an open-minded and committed approach who is used to see situations from different points of view and have a well-developed sense of empathy. You are great at establishing and keeping strong long term relations at all levels of the business and with your colleagues in the IT organization.

Last but not least, you have proficiency in English.
