At BESTSELLER we are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join our B2C Analytics Retail team. A colleague with the experience and skillset needed to assist in keeping our current solutions running seamlessly, while orchestrating a gradual transfer into a state-of-the-art setup.

YOUR TEAM
You'll be part of our Data & Analytics department consisting of 50 colleagues who all share the same passion for data and who actively drive the data agenda in BESTSELLER. Our goal is to deliver value to our end consumers, ensuring that satisfaction and quality are always on the radar.  More specifically you will join the B2C Analytics Retail team, sharing the passion of making a good product better. To achieve this, we create tools that automate and augment decisions with data and insights.

YOUR ROLE
As a Data Engineer in the B2C Retail team, you will play a significant role in maintaining and further developing our current solutions and in transforming our current Data Warehouse environment into a more future proof Data Mesh Setup. Our everyday work is made up of data analysis, data integration and project-based tasks, all done in close collaboration with our brands, markets, and other core functions. Your role in this setting will be to develop our new data products and end-user solutions in line with the requirements given by the business. Furthermore, your responsibilities include:

  • Support the migration of our legacy data warehouse and data products to a new platform on Snowflake using DBT and Airflow.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Design and implement data pipelines, ETL processes, and data models to support business needs.
  • Create and maintain automated data ingestion, transformation, and validation processes using Azure technologies such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Functions, and Azure Databricks.
  • Develop and maintain SQL Server stored procedures, views, and functions to support data access and reporting needs.
  • Monitor and optimize data warehouse performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Implement data governance policies to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and security.
  • Create and maintain documentation for data engineering processes and best practices.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in data engineering and cloud computing.

WORKPLACE LOCATION: Hybrid work model - enjoy the flexibility of remote work while collaborating in person at our Aarhus office (minimum 3 days/week).

YOUR PROFILE

Furthermore, we expect that you have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in data engineering and architecture.
  • Expertise in Azure technologies such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Functions, and Azure Databricks.
  • Proficiency in SQL Server, including the ability to write stored procedures, views, and functions.
  • Experience with Snowflake and DBT.
  • Knowledge of Airflow or similar workflow management tools.
  • Familiarity with data modeling and database design principles.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
