The Great Southern Killarney is looking for highly efficient, well presented, well organised and energetic Bar Supervisor for our Browns Bar.

The ideal candidate is someone who's is passionate about Guest Service, has bags of stamina and enjoys the fast pace of working in an award winning 4* plus environment. You also need to be able to stay calm and work as part of a team during a frenetic service and ensure a fantastic guest experience by following clear instruction and assisting your team-mates where needed. You will also need to take charge of your section and support the Bar Manager in a supervisory role to staff members - taking responsibility for employee supervision and other supervisory tasks.

Key delivery areas:

As Bar Supervisor your main function will be to provide and ensure excellent customer service by professionally and efficiently serving food and preparing and serving beverage to our Guests and ensuring that your team is doing the same.

  • To be aware of financial targets as a whole
  • To take positive action to meet department objectives and targets
  • To be proactive in maximising sales and generating revenue
  • To communicate effectively with guests/customers
  • To assist the Bar Manager in the control of wages costs in line with budgetary requirements
  • To support the bar manager in the implementing and/or following of procedures concerning recording of stock movement e.g. correct charging of items, billing
  • To ensure that guests drinks are prepared and served according to company standards
  • To be involved in the setting of service and quality standards, and to monitor and strive for their achievement
  • To monitor, anticipate and react to customer needs consistently to ensure maximum guest satisfaction
  • To lead the team by example
  • To coach individual team members to develop their skills and maximise performance
  • To motivate and be proactive in encouraging team commitment and spirit
  • To delegate and manage the distribution of workload effectively
  • To ensure that the appearance of team members is in accordance with company policy
  • To ensure that roster are completed in the absence of the bar manager
  • To supervise the department in a fair, consistent and responsible way

The Successful Candidate will:

•Have previous experience in a similar role at 4*/5* level

•Have a friendly and outgoing manner

•Be well-presented and maintain a professional image at all times through appearance

•Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills

•Have fluent English, both verbal and written

•Be courteous and focused on providing a consistently high standard of customer service

•Be a team player, flexible

•Have knowledge of food, wine and cocktails

•Have local knowledge of Killarney
