The University of Vaasa is located on the West coast of Finland at the heart of one of the most thriving regions in Finland and the Nordic countries’ largest energy technology hub. The University of Vaasa offers degree programmes at all academic levels, from bachelor's to doctoral degrees. We provide education in business, technology, public administration, and communication studies.

Quality in education and research

To reach our goals and continuously improve our university, we regularly evaluate the quality and effectiveness of education, research and societal impact as well as the university services through external and internal evaluations.

The University of Vaasa is listed in several major international university rankings, including the THE World University Rankings, THE Impact Rankings, QS European Rankings and the Shanghai Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS) in subjects Business Administration, Electrical & Electronic Engineering and Management.

The University of Vaasa actively pursues international accreditations as a key means of continuous development and strengthening its international positioning. Our three international business studies master’s programmes are EFMD programme accredited. We have also in 2024 been awarded the internationally renowned six-year AACSB accreditation for business studies.

The university has also received recognition for its commitment to actively enhance researchers' working conditions and career development as a part of the European commissions' HR Excellence (HRS4R) programme.
