About the organisation
Istraturist is a Croatian company with 50 years tradition in rendering tourist services in hotels, apartment resorts and campsites. The recognisability and success of Istraturist are results of its long-standing orientation towards high quality tourism.
All Istraturist’s properties are located on the north-western coast of the Istrian peninsula along the 40 kilometres long Umag Riviera.
Significant investments over the years helped position Istraturist and the city of Umag at the top of Croatian tourism offer. After adding three state-of-the-art wellness centres to its offer, Umag has become one of the most desirable wellness destinations in Croatia. And with its long tradition of hosting the international tennis tournament, ATP Croatia Open, Umag has solidified itself as a top sport tourist destination.
The aim of Istraturist is continuous improvement of accommodation quality, development of additional facilities for vacation, sport and recreation, as well as active participation in repositioning of Umag and Istria to a premium tourist destination with a strong commitment to environment.
Aiming to implement the highest of international tourist service standards, in 1998 Istraturist engaged Meliá Hotels International for the functions of sales and operations. Meliá Hotels International was founded in 1956 in Palma de Mallorca and, with 350 hotels in 30 countries, it is one of the world’s largest resort operators.
