International House Helsinki (IHH) provides a wide range of information and public authority services to meet the needs of international newcomers. We can provide you with general guidance and information about life in the Helsinki capital region and the services provided by the cities of Helsinki, Espoo, and Vantaa.

At IHH, you can register your EU citizen's right of residence, get your personal identity code, register your municipality of residence and notify a change of address. Our IHH service centre is also where international newcomers can get their tax card, receive tax counseling, and help to determine if they are eligible for social security and benefits.

The Newcomer’s Guide published by IHH is the ultimate resource for those interested in moving to, living, working, and studying in the Helsinki capital region. IHH also organizes regular Newcomer Information Sessions to support and inform international newcomers about the steps to take before and after moving to the Helsinki capital region.
