Structural Engineer (2-5 years experience)
Structural Engineer with 2-5 years experience post graduation in general structural elements to work as part of a design team on a range of structural engineering projects involving all forms of building construction across a wide range of sectors including Commercial, Retail, Hotel, Residential Educational and Industrial. The ideal candidate should have general experience in all forms of building construction and be familiar with current Codes of Practice and Building Control Regulations and procedures.
Reporting to a Director/Team Leader, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:--
- Preparing preliminary scheme design options for discussion and approval.
- Producing structural design calculations and drawings to Eurocodes and Irish Building Regulations.
- Reviewing drawings and designs from other members of the design team and external consultants.
- Site inspections involving inspecting steel reinforcement prior to concrete pour and general workmanship on site.
- Daily problem solving in order to produce safe, economical, and structurally viable design solutions.
- Liaising with clients, design team and contractors and supporting the growth and the development of the Team.
- Perform other duties as required.
Desired qualifications and requirements:
- Minimum of 3rd level (Honours Degree)qualification ,Masters preferred, in Structural engineering.
- Preferably chartered or progressing towards chartered.
- Advanced knowledge and experience using design software packages.
- Hands-on experience using several construction methods and materials.
- Good analytical and mathematical skills to conduct accurate calculations.
- Excellent project management skills.
- Strong work ethic and dedicated to tasks with a positive attitude.
- Flexible approach and the ability to adapt to a new and evolving environment.
