Our client Organic Farm Makumarja in Elimäki, Kymi Valley, is looking for five hard-working and energetic employees to pick organic strawberries for the summer season 2024.
The estimated start of the harvest season is after Midsummer, and we hope you will commit to the entire picking season, which will last about 4-5 weeks depending on the weather. In addition to picking berries, the job may also include other tasks related to organic berry management. The work will start early in the morning and continue as needed and as conditions allow. We value flexibility so that we can take care of our customers.
For a few people, we also offer work for two weeks in May. This work is berry weeding.
The salary is by the Finnish Collective Agreement of Rural Industries, contract/hourly pay.
The farm is located in Elimäki, Kymi Valley, about 100 kilometers from Helsinki to North East. Elimäki is easy to reach by motorway or bus. Accommodation can be arranged in the farm yard in shared accommodation. Residents take care of household chores themselves. Find out more about the farm here (only in Finnish).

You will need to speak either Finnish or English to a level where you can cope with the work and communicate well within the team. The harvest season is a tight crunch, where teamwork is emphasized and everyone helps each other.
You do not need to have previous experience in strawberry picking, but it is an advantage if you have previously done similar tasks and/or are familiar with agriculture on some level. Strawberry picking is a job where you are constantly on the move and precision is required. You will do best if you are physically fit and have nimble fingers.
