Software Commissioning Engineer

Your position

As Software Commissioning Engineer you’ll have shared responsibility for the commissioning of our systems at customer sites. Our customers are located around the world, which means you’ll spend 60% to 75% of your time travelling.

You’ll be involved in projects right from the start in terms of design and engineering. As well as configuring the FSC (Flow Systems Controller; low level controls software developed by our client), your work can also include configuring the SCADA and specific software. After that you’ll travel to the customer site where you’ll commission the system. This involves checking the cabling, setting up all the EM components, building the interfaces with peripheral equipment such as scanners, fine-tuning the FSC software configuration which you’ve engineered, and putting our software into operation.
In this role you’ll work together with all parties on-site.
You’ll be to a large extent responsible for subsystem testing and making sure the system passes the Site Acceptance Test.

Your department

Our Parcel & Postal Engineering department carries out projects in multidisciplinary teams consisting of Project Leaders, Layout, Mechanical Engineers and Software Commissioning Engineers.

Your profile

• HBO (higher vocational education) in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering or Industrial Automation. 
• Good command of English
• An interest in industrial automation and controls hardware such as field bus systems and sensors, including PROFINET, PROFIBUS and Siemens S7 
• Willing to travel extensively (60-75% of the time) in other countries
