What we are looking for
We are looking for motivated, reliable, and detail-oriented individuals who take pride in their work. You enjoy working outdoors in all weather, like physical activity, and have relevant experience in golf course or turf maintenance.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of documented work experience as a greenkeeper (or in park/horticultural work)
- Good references from previous employers in the golf or turf industry
- Experience with irrigation systems and turf maintenance
- Basic machine operation skills (tractors, mowers, etc.)
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Strong work ethic, punctuality, and a positive attitude
- Attention to detail and quality
You do not need to be an expert in all areas – the most important thing is a willingness to learn and contribute to a positive and safe working environment.
Main tasks
As a Seasonal Assistant Greenkeeper, you will be a vital part of our team and contribute to keeping Tyrifjord Golfklubb at the highest standard throughout the season.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Daily course maintenance – mowing of greens, tees, and fairways
- Raking and maintaining bunkers
- Operating modern turf maintenance machinery
- Assisting with irrigation, fertilization, and turf care
- Course and facility inspections

- Minimum 3 years of documented experience as a greenkeeper or in park/horticultural maintenance
- Solid references from previous employers in the golf or turf industry
- Experience with irrigation systems and turf maintenance
- Basic knowledge of operating turf machinery (tractors, mowers, utility vehicles)
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team
- Good physical condition and willingness to work outdoors in all weather
- Positive attitude, attention to detail, and pride in delivering high-quality work
- Formal education or certification in greenkeeping, turf management, horticulture, or related fields
- Previous experience from golf courses in Scandinavia or Northern Europe
- Knowledge of modern irrigation control systems
- Skills in basic machinery maintenance and troubleshooting
- Chainsaw or pesticide handling certificates (PA1/PA2 or equivalent)
- Valid driver’s license (car or tractor)
- Basic understanding of health & safety routines in sports turf management

- Physical work: The job involves outdoor, physical tasks (mowing, bunker work, machinery use), so good physical health and fitness are required.
- Weather exposure: Work is outdoors in all weather conditions (rain, sun, wind, frost).
- Seasonal contract: This is a temporary, full-time position from April to October 2026.
- Remote work not possible: You must be present on site; home office is not an option.
- Language: Working language is English. Knowledge of Norwegian is not required, but considered a plus.
- Driver’s license: Not mandatory, but recommended for operating some machinery and for living on Storøya.
- Work permits: Non-EU/EEA applicants must secure a valid Norwegian work permit before starting.
