In Maersk Drilling we are on the lookout for a performance improvement coach that can facilitate performance improvements offshore and train on drilling equipment across our global fleet of advanced drilling rigs. You can look forward to a position in an international environment.





We Offer

Are you ready to use your offshore drilling expertise to make radical safety & operational performance improvements in the offshore drilling industry? Do you excel in project management, business analysis, communications and establishing long-term partnerships? Perhaps you are ready to join the Maersk Drilling Performance Improvement Team as one of our dedicated Performance Coaches.



This team plays a key role in Maersk Drilling’s strategy to deliver added value to our customers by operating our rigs more safely and efficiently than competitors. You get to travel 160-190 days annually and will visit some of the market’s most advanced rigs working for some of the largest and most professional operators.



You will work on a rotation scheme with leave for the time you spent offshore. You will report to the Rig Performance Improvement Manager at the head offices in Lyngby, Denmark. You will visit Lyngby on a frequent basis to be part of the team and be trained in the Maersk Drilling toolbox for managing and driving safety and operational performance improvements on offshore rigs.

Key Responsibilities

As performance coach you will:



Ensure a safe and efficient operation through coaching and training all offshore crew and onshore rig management in the effective use of the rig operating system:

•Management System, SIRIUS

•Service Delivery Model and PDSA tools and methodology

•Safety reporting and systems

•Performance management tools and systems



Facilitate Kaizen blitz and other improvement initiatives offshore and ensure documented results are achieved.



Work together with rig managers, customer and offshore managers to identify safety and operational performance improvement potential, prioritise projects and mobilize crew to improve performance and processes.



Coach offshore crews at all levels on executing their own safety and operational performance improvement projects.



Conduct interviews and observation studies offshore to identify improvement need and potential.



Create buy in from key stakeholders and support rig management in successfully managing change.





Who we are looking for

You have experience from drilling rigs or production industries and a relevant education on minimum bachelor level or a senior offshore background such as: OIM, Senior Toolpusher, Tourpusher, Well Engineer or other Supervisory positions.

You understand that safe operations are also efficient operations.



You have strong coaching and interpersonal skills. You have the ability to get people on board, and drive change as well as the ability to create structure for others and put things in writing that give others clarity and direction.



Knowledge of or interest in learning about Lean and Kaizen improvement methodologies is essential.



Knowledge of or interest in learning about offshore safety practices is essential.
