Health and Safety Officer

Ayrton Group have a requirement for an on-site Health and Safety Officer working on a school construction project in the Limerick region. This role will commence in early January.

This is a 9 month contract role, with the potential for extension.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular site audits/inspections to ensure Health and Safety compliance to Company and Client procedures/rules.
• Monitor works on-site and ensure all tasks are completed in adherence with safety regulations.
• Advise and instruct on various safety-related topics (noise levels, use of machinery etc.).
• Assist in the management of subcontractors.
• Assist in the initiation and organization of health and safety training of employees and executives as required.
• Inspect premises and the work of personnel to identify issues or non-conformity (e.g. not using protective equipment).
• Maintain incident reporting and near misses and follow up actions, identifying root causes and implementing changes to prevent reoccurrences.
• Prepare reports on occurrences and provide statistical information to upper management.
• Reviewing the SWP’s (Safe Work Plans) for the tasks on site.
• Carry out inductions and Toolbox Talks as required.

Requirements:

• 2+ years work experience in Health and Safety required.
• Minimum of a recognised Diploma in Health and Safety.
• Safe Pass required.
• Experience on Construction projects is required.
• Ability to work on own initiative and be innovative.
• Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
• You must be legally permitted to live and work in Ireland.
