EDR Antwerp shipyard is the largest shipyard in Belgium, specialized in ship maintenance and repairs, hull treatment, and marine construction. Challenging activities, which require skilful and motivated team members.
Over 150 vessels annually are being repaired and maintained at our shipyard in Antwerp and projects are performed on board of vessels across the world.
As part of EDR development and growth, we are strengthening our Steel Departement. to support the business which is necessary in a growing environment.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
As a foreman you manage a team for maintenance and repair of sea-going vessels in our dry docks at the port of
Antwerp. Together with the project team you support the work on board. You closely observe and follow the pre-
production stages in our own new production hall. You are responsible to ensure a safe working environment. Some
projects run simultaneously therefore multi-tasking is a requirement. It is important to proactively cooperate in
numerous various tasks and ensure clear communication with your team and staff. As a foreman you will attend daily
meetings, take care of correct administration procedures and report to the project manager.
YOUR STRENGTHS
You have completed a welder / pipefitter training with at least 5 years of working experience
You have a broad developed image of the shipbuilding industry
You can work independently and have experience in leading teams
Adequate level of English is important as communication is mainly in English
You attach great importance to safety and quality
You can keep a cool head in unexpected situations and dynamically seek effective solutions
