Описание на предложението за работа

Are you intrigued by the energy market and its price drivers? Are you interested in forecasting and simulation models? And would you like to accelerate your professional development among highly skilled analysts who enjoy honing their quantitative skills? Then you might be our new trading analyst for Power Market Analysis.

Power Market Analysis – linking trading decisions with quantitative modelling and data

Danske Commodities (DC) is an energy trading company that specialises in short-term power and gas trading and offers balancing, optimisation and hedging services to energy producers and suppliers. Every day, we complete more than 15,000 trades across 39 countries, constantly moving energy from where there is more than needed to where it is needed most.

We are looking for a new colleague to join our Power Markets Analysis team that develops quantitative models to forecast power prices, describe market dynamics and price complex products across the European power markets. To provide this essential information to our traders and portfolio managers, we rely on thorough analyses of market fundamentals and robust data solutions. In our daily work, we work side-by-side with the traders, linking trading decisions with quantitative modelling and data.

Detail-oriented analyst with programming skills

As our new colleague in Power Markets Analysis, your primary tasks will be to model the European power market and participant behaviour as well as building and maintaining systems for price forecasting and scenario analyses of European power prices. As such, we expect you to have a natural interest in understanding the physicality of energy as a commodity and how it is priced and traded in the markets. Also, it is important that you are detail-oriented and quality-conscious and that you have programming experience.

Your journey as our new trading analyst

No matter your level of experience, you will get a thorough introduction to DC, to the Power Market Analysis team, your tasks and our existing tools, models and databases. The primary focus during your onboarding will be to ensure that you understand our existing models and tools and that you learn to maintain these. You will receive continuous feedback on your work while climbing the learning curve. On the longer term, you will get the opportunity to increase your area of responsibility and to proactively add to our power modelling framework. It is also expected that you maintain an up-to-date view on energy market fundamentals and price drivers and that you are able to use this insight to provide concrete market advise for traders and portfolio managers.
