ENIC-NARIC Portugal

National Information Centre for the Recognition of Academic Qualifications

ENIC-NARIC Portugal is the national information centre responsible for the recognition of academic qualifications in Portugal. 

Operating under the Directorate-General for Higher Education (DGES), it is part of both the European Network of Information Centres (ENIC) and the National Academic Recognition Information Centres (NARIC) network.

Its mission is to promote transparency, academic mobility, and mutual trust between education systems by providing accurate and up-to-date information on national and international qualifications and recognition procedures.

ENIC-NARIC Portugal supports:

• Portuguese citizens who have obtained qualifications abroad;
• Foreign nationals seeking to study or work in Portugal.

As a key liaison among higher education institutions, national authorities, and international partners, the centre contributes to strengthening Portugal’s role within the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) and enhancing the international credibility of Portuguese qualifications.

Through collaboration and the exchange of best practices, ENIC-NARIC Portugal fosters the internationalization of higher education and reinforces effective and transparent recognition processes worldwide.
