Wind & Site Project Engineer (m/f/d)

Position details Especially in complex terrain, wind farm projects face special risks resulting from wind parameters. The complex terrain has an impact on the wind fl ow. Complex terrain can increase wind parameters like turbulence intensity, extreme wind speed, fl ow inclination, wind shear etc. Exceedance of design parameters bears risks for the wind park project, which must be analyzed prior to wind turbine installation. Wind parameters exceeding the wind turbine design limits must be quantified. The resulting loads need to be compared with the design loads of the wind turbine as well as the overall Energy Production needs to be assessed.

Key tasks:

• Compile and analyse energy production and site verification analysis for domestic and international wind energy projects;

• Analyse wind measurements to assess site-specific wind conditions; • Perform wind farm layout optimizations;

• Check IEC wind turbine design parameters like e.g. turbulence intensity, wind shear, flow inclination, extreme wind speed;

• Perform risk analysis in case IEC wind turbine design parameters are exceeded;

• Conduct 3D flow simulations and document results in English;

• Provide support to Sales, experts, customers and government authorities.

Your profile:

• Graduate engineer in science or technology;

• Prior experience in a similar position would be an asset;

• Good technical understanding and IT skills;

• Prior experience in using special software such as WindPRO, WAsP, Meteodyn would be an advantage;

• Excellent command of Portuguese and English language (both written and spoken), other foreign languages welcome;
