About the position

As a Test Engineer for SitaWare Insight at Systematic Defence, you will join a growing programme with approx. 50 highly skilled colleagues working in close collaboration to ensure a high-quality product for Systematic customers. The SitaWare Insight programme exploits the ‘data lakes’ that militaries control, and which are formed from sensor information, images, videos, documents etc. The programme consists of multiple cross-functional teams in Aarhus, Denmark, and Warsaw, Poland. You will work in a programme with three Test Engineers and one Test Manager, ensuring ideal development opportunities. As a Test Engineer in Defence, you will join a strong and unique network comprising 25 Testers and Test Managers organised under one Test Project Manager, providing you with an outstanding opportunity to share knowledge and spar with colleagues across the business unit. In addition, you will be able to join our knowledge network centred around the discipline of testing.

Responsibilities and tasks

As a Systematic Test Engineer, you will represent quality assurance in your Scrum team, and play a key role in ensuring a high level of quality throughout development. The Insights programme is newly established, and you will work in close collaboration with your Test Manager to develop and define our test strategy and future testing needs. You will be responsible for ensuring that testing is involved at an early stage for the sake of high-quality tests. Test Automation is a central part of our test strategy, and as a Test Engineer you will play a role in designing and automating our testing processes. As SitaWare Insight is characterised by a top-of-the-line tech stack, you will have the opportunity to utilise this in your test automation work. You will participate in risk-assessing potential future test subjects.

In assuming this role at Systematic, you will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring a high level of test quality throughout the complete features process by taking a proactive approach and working closely with your Scrum team.
  • Incorporating test automation and supporting both the design and implementation phase.
  • Representing quality assurance in the planning of new features and thereby ensuring a testable design.
  • All test activities in your Scrum team such as system tests, field tests, bug hunts etc.
  • Risk assessments incl. test planning and prioritising test assignments.

Our ideal candidate

 

  • Holds a Bachelor’s degree or similar from a technical study programme such as ICTs, healthcare technology or similar.
  • Has 1-2 years of experience with software development or testing from an internship or student position – or is a new graduate looking for their first full-time job opening.
  • Has a burning passion for testing, and is eager to grow and evolve personally.
  • Is a strong communicator who is able to communicate with all types of people.
  • Has a knowledge of Linux, Docker, Kubernetes and test automation frameworks from either a personal interest or from your studies.

Practical information

  • You can expect 5-10 travel days a year to visit your colleagues in Poland.
