For our The R&D Hub Team we are looking for a bright mechanical engineer, who has the right balance between creativity and quality in all your solutions. The R&D Hub Team consists of more than 20 highly skilled employees all located in Denmark. The team is responsible for hub design across all turbine platforms. This includes the casted hub, pitch system, blade bearing, hydraulics, spinner and internal parts. As a Senior Design Engineer you will be working with development in close cooperation with structural analysis engineers, Service, Manufacturing, Procurement, EHS and others. You will be responsible for executing design on time and at cost with accountability on the technical solutions, quality and integrity of 3D models and 2D drawings. You will be a part of a dynamic environment working at a high professional level and with a strong technical commitment
What are my responsibilities?
· Continually evaluating how design can be developed more efficiently and in a better quality. When you have defined a better design process, you start using it yourself, you describe it and you mentor your colleagues in how to do it · Leading and guiding the design team during the project · Developing designs/models of wind turbine parts, system and sub modules according to standards and product requirements · Working with advanced 3D modeling using Siemens PLM software, defining best practice for design work and showing how best practice is done · Defining work packages to be handled by colleagues outside Denmark or external consultants · Making documentation like GPS on 2D drawings, tolerance chain analysis, FMEA etc. · Participating in reviews, assemblies/tests, site visits, supplier visits etc.
What do I need to qualify for this job?
· You have 5-7 years of experience with mechanical design as well as documented experience with Geometrical Product Specifications (GPS). Experience with NX, SAP and Teamcenter will be an advantage · As a person you are outgoing and proactive and you possess the ability to work both independently and in teams · You are used to working in a highly dynamic environment and keeping deadlines in tight schedules · In addition, your approach to task solving is both technically sound and commercially viable · You have good communication and English skills both orally and in writing In case you have acquired your skills in alternative ways your application is just as well appreciated.
