Technology professionals implement and lead highly complex technology projects. Working with clients, they design, develop and deliver innovative technology solutions that drive high performance. These professionals may build, test, install and maintain software across a variety of projects and industries, working with leading enterprise applications such as SAP, Siebel, PeopleSoft and Oracle or with custom-built applications, and they are involved in a wide range of challenging global technology projects.

As a Project Portfolio Specialist you are situated within the Digital Service Unit. You are at the centre of all digital projects, centralizing the management of one or more portfolios, which includes identifying, prioritizing, authorizing, managing, and controlling projects, programs and other related work to achieve specific strategic business objectives.

You determine the optimal resource mix for delivery and to schedule activities to best achieve DSU organization’s operational and financial goals ― while honouring constraints imposed by customers, strategic objectives, or external factor.

- Establish and guide the selection, prioritization, balancing, and termination processes for portfolio components

to ensure alignment with organizational strategy.

- Provide key stakeholders with timely assessment of portfolio and component performance.

- Assist decision makers with the review, reprioritization, and optimization of the portfolio.

- Ensure timely and consistent communication to stakeholders on progress, impacts, and changes associated with management of the portfolio.

- Participate in program and project reviews to reflect senior level support, leadership, and involvement in important matters.

- Eliminate surprises: provides managers and executives with a process to identify potential problems earlier in the project lifecycle, and the visibility to take corrective action before they impact financial results.

Requirements:

- Successful project management track record 

- Minimum of 3 years industry experience in large scale implementations in software consulting services using a structured methodology 

- Experience with bid preparation and project management tools and processes 

- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of client personnel 

- Proven record of execution to time and budget 

- Strategic and tactical thinking 

- Undergraduate degree, or equivalent work experience 

- PMP certification
