Our international defence business is in significant growth, and we need a strong leader to drive our Bespoke Software Development Team building custom solutions on top of our market leading commercial-of-the-shelf software products

The job

Systematic has a market-leading portfolio of commercial off the shelf software products for the defence business. The products comes with open API’s allowing for integration of third party software and hardware, as well as using the product as a platform for additional business related features. Our bespoke software development team help our customers develop this kind of solutions integrating our products into their specific environment.As project manager for bespoke software development, you will be leading multiple software development projects in parallel to deliver agreed scope and quality at the agreed time and price, in a highly customer oriented environment. Sometimes the deliveries are directly to the customer, and sometimes they are part of a bigger delivery program, but the customer will always be at the centre of the delivery. Your team consists of very skilled developers having many years of experience developing software in close collaboration with the customers.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading agile software development projects in a highly mature environment (CMMI level 5)
  • Leading a team of highly skilled developers and being responsible for their personal and professional growth
  • Working together with Business Developers in sales activities, providing technical support and taking part in proposal writing
  • Working with Product Management providing feedback on product API’s on behalf of customers as well as the Bespoke Development Team

You will be part of the Defence Services Department, working closely with our seven Market Unit Teams, each organised towards a geographical group of customers. Often your will act as an internal sub-supplier to these teams, managing larger customer delivery project.

Your skills and personality

You have a relevant education and experience from working with project management preferable in a global setup. You have experience in the following areas:

  • Prior work with projects for external customer facing projects
  • Experience with agile software development
  • A few years of leadership with successful development of people
  • Experience with business development is a plus
  • Fluent in English, orally and in writing

You are an ambitious person who is constantly striving to develop your own skill set, as well as the people around you. You are very strong in communications and have a drive that we will feel right away. You are good at relations, and thrive with people in formal and informal relationships. You have the structured approach that will enable you to grow the API Development Team and help our customers succeed.

You will be in reference to a Program Manager in the Defence Service Department and reside in the group headquarters in Aarhus, Denmark. You should expect some travel activities visiting our customers.
