Then you could be the new Mechanical Engineer we are looking for in Product Engineering Center (PEC) at Danfoss Solar Inverters. You will be part of the PEC, which holds the design responsibility (hardware, software & mechanical) for solar inverters which R&D has handed over to operation. PEC is providing mechanical resources for R&D, and you will occasionally take part in new product development in R&D.

The position is located in Nordborg, DK in new, modern premises at Danfoss global headquarters.


Mechanical development for new and existing solutions

Referring to the Manager of PEC Engineering you will have the overall mechanical design responsibility for solar inverter platforms.
You will play an active role in cost-down activities, quality improvements and new product development on all solar inverter platforms. It is your mission to continuously improve the solutions in relation to cost, quality and usability in order to keep solar inverter platforms up to current and future standards. You will be entering a varied job with a high degree of freedom, where you will be participating in the mechanical team. Your key tasks will be:


• Participation in R&D product development projects
• Maintenance of existing solar inverter platforms
• Design and implementation of product improvements in close cooperation with Supply Chain
• Leading mechanical prototyping – proof of concept
• Verification of design changes for high reliability and robustness
• Conceptual development of new solutions

Broad mechanical background driven by innovation and ambition

As a minimum you have a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and you have solid working experience from a development department. You are a skilled user of Pro-E 3D modelling. You are familiar with die cast aluminium, injection moulding, sheet metal, thermal designs and manufacturing. Furthermore, you possess knowledge of DFM, CAPA and Six Sigma. You are experienced within full cycle product development, motivated by working in a development team, and communication and cooperation are among your major strengths. You will have many contacts across the organisation and you are proficient in written and spoken English.
