Build our big data solutions from the ground up As Junior Engineer, you participate in the start-up of the big data journey at the LEGO Group by building applications across our platforms. You partake in projects across the LEGO Group and our different business areas. Moreover, you troubleshoot production issues and ensure modularity, reusability and the quality of the designed and implemented components. Finally, you make sure that the necessary and complete documentation is created. To be more specific, you: Participate actively in blue-print, coding, design, implementation and test phases and ensure that development is aligned within the project development teams and towards project requirements Complete change requests by conducting programming alterations Participate in and support delivery teams just as you participate in daily operations of the Big Data applications Make an impact across the business You join a team of 2 Senior Engineers, who, together with the Head of Big Data Solutions, will be sure to support and encourage you to make a real impact on solutions. Through your updated knowledge of development languages, you join us as a key player and a vital resource, who gets things done to the highest possible quality. Here, you will collaborate closely with the big data teams in Business and IT, to secure functionality, Best Practice performance and that we live up to the LEGO Business requirements. It is an environment that will help you to develop deep expertise and a thorough understanding of our international business. Developer experience As we are building our big data solutions from the ground up, you will encounter many trial-and-error situations, where our solutions need to be rebuilt. Simultaneously, you will need to gain a thorough understanding of the LEGO Group, to ensure stakeholder buy in towards the big data area and establish productive cross-organisational alignment and cooperation. To succeed, you: Hold a degree in Engineering, Computer Science or similar combined with data modelling experience and developer skills within Java, Scala or Python Have an interest in big data, Business Intelligence, applications and knowledge of SQL and NoSQL - any knowledge of Hadoop and distributed processing of large data sets is a plus but no a requirement Possibly have some experience with data modelling tools, MapReduce job, data quality tools and traditional Master Data management tools Speak and write English effortlessly and are able to travel up to 20 days a year Join the global LEGO® Family In the LEGO Group, we succeed together, and you will be part of a global family where you can use your creativity and enjoy a fun working environment across the LEGO Community.
