What would customer service work on the world’s only icebreaker in tourist use sound like? Icebreaker Sampo’s cruises are the most internationally known tourist experiences in Lapland and the whole of Finland. For 35 years, we have been taking customers in Kemi from more than 50 different countries every year on this unique cruise across the icy Bothnian Bay. Our customers are enthralled by this experience, which also makes the work of a guide very rewarding.

Kemi Tourism Ltd. is looking for guides for the Icebreaker Sampo for the winter of 2023-2024. Sampo cruises from 18.12.2023 to 13.4.2024 and there are cruises almost every day, usually twice a day. The work starts a little before the cruise season with an orientation period.

In your job, you guide international groups during Sampo’s cruise. You take guests around the ship, getting to know its history, technology and crew. An essential part of guide work at Sampo is entertaining customers, assisting waiters in sales work, cleaning work, as well as dressing and assisting our customers during ice flotation. This section requires good general fitness. The guides can also work in arranging cruises and port transfers at the SnowCastle area. You are an integral part of the realization of the experiences of Kemi Tourism Ltd. Sampo is a very important part of our business and definitely the top product of tourism in all of Sea Lapland.
