JOB DESCRIPTION: HOTEL ENTERTAINMENT TEAM LEADER (ANIMATOR)

As a Hotel Entertainment Team Leader, you are responsible with your team for the organisation and delivery for the daytime activities and the evening entertainment. You have to make sure the guests enjoy their holidays and want to spend as much time as possible inside the hotel.

What hours you will work:

You will work six days a week, approximately 8-9 hours a day, divided in three parts. (Start 10:00-12:30, 15:00-17:00 20:30-00:00). You may need to use your breaks to organise paperwork, meet with Managers, teach and rehearse shows, plan shows/gameshows or solve any queries regarding the Entertainment programme.

Your working hours will be given by your Hotel Manager or Entertainment Manager.

 Daytime activities

During the day you will be responsible in organising and delivering fun activities such as water polo, french boules, volleyball, darts, pool competitions, football, Family fun afternoonsand lots lots more. Your outgoing personality will encourage the guests to join in with the daytime fun and also want them to come and enjoy your evening entertainment. You will also be responsible for supplying your team with the skills and knowledge to run daytime activities and make these enjoyable for the guests.

 Kids club

Some of our Hotels do have Kids Club and you will need to devise a programme for the team to ensure Kids Club is providing fun activities in the club for the Children. There are special sessions you will organise such as Under the Sea, Jungle safari, Pirate Day, Cowboy’s & Indian’s, Olympic day and many many more. Your Kids Club sessions will include games and craft activities. You will ensure that all Kids Club paperwork is completed to an excellent standard.

 Evening program

Your role is to ensure that the Evening programme is busy, entertaining and appealing to your guests. Your evening programme will be extremely professional and everything involved in the evening will be overseen and organised by you. You will be involved in every part of the evening from Mini Disco to the Main Event to the sound equipment. You will teach your team the necessary skills to be able to deliver the evening programme to an excellent standard; this also includes teaching them team shows, organising rehearsals and performing the show to an excellent standard.You will be involved and lead by example.

 

PR

This is one of the most important aspects of being a good entertainer. PR means nothing more than to talk to the guests, inform them about your program and become friends with them. All it needs is good communication skills. After every evening show, the Hotel Entertainment Team Leader is expected to PR, ask what they thought about the show, find feedback etc. During daytime activities the Team Leader should PR and promote the evening show. Also, in some cases the theme nights of the hotel.

Where will you work:

You will work in a Hotel in either Protaras, Ayia Napa Larnaca, Limassol or Pafos. One Stop Entertainment will decide in which hotel you will work. This will be based on your skills and personality and our knowledge of the Hotels. The Company decision is final. The Company reserves the right to change your hotel throughout the season if beneficial to the company requirements.

Where will you live:

You will live in a shared accommodation. You may share with up to 3 other people and accommodation is given as same sex sharing (all female/all male). The accommodation can sometimes be in the Hotel or a short walk away. If further than 1 km you will be given money to hire a bicycle. This accommodation is usually basic with limited or no kitchen facilities and basic furniture. The hotel will provide you with bed sheets. We will try our utmost to ensure that you will not live with your own team.

Food& Drink:

You will be on a half board basis before the 1st May, breakfast and an evening meal. Please bring extra money if lunch is required during this time.

Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner & Drinks are provided by the hotel once you start in the hotel. You may be given allocated times as when you can use the facilities. Some hotels may require you to eat in the Staff Areas away from the guests. Alcohol during working hours is not permitted.

Flights:

You will need to purchase your own flights to and from Cyprus (Larnaca Airport), and also arrange your own transport to your accommodation from the Airport. One Stop Entertainment can provide a transfer from the airport for a small charge of 25 euros to cover petrol. Please inform us in advance if you would like this to be arranged

 

 

Salary:

We pay by Cheque on the 15th of the month for the month worked previous. For example for the days worked between 1st and 31st of May will be paid on the 15th June.Please bring with you enough money for your arrival until your hotel opens (these days are unpaid) and enough until the 15th of June. Your accommodation, food and drinks will be covered during this period. We pay by Cheque and this needs to be paid into a Cyprus bank account. When you arrive in Cyprus you will need to open a Cyprus bank account, this can easily be done with a copy of your contract and ID/Passport. Due to the company banking, we advise that you open an account with the Hellenic Bank. You can arrange this when you arrive in Cyprus.

Contract dates:

You will need to be able to fly to Cyprus between the 20th – 25thApril. Please be available and dates will be confirmed if you are successful. You must be able to work in Cyprus until the 31st October inclusive.

Do you have what it takes?

We need:

  • At least a minimum of two season’s experience working in a Hotel Entertainer/Animator role.
  • People who can speak to a high level of the English language (essential). Other languages such as Russian, Swedish, Finnish, German, & French would be an advantage.
  • Highly motivated, confident individuals with a passion for entertainment.
  • The ability to organise, motivate and work as part of a team. Also to communicate and build relationships with Hotel Managers, Food and Beverage Managers, all Hotel Staff, suppliers to the Hotel and suppliers to the Hotel Entertainment.
  • General entertainers with excellent communication skills.
  • Vocalists, dancers & performers (not essential)
  • Required to have his/her own laptop

 We offer:

  • Initial 6 month contract

  • Starting salary of Hotel Entertainment Team Leader 700 – 1,200 euros per month (depending on experience)and opportunities to earn commissions.100 euros bonus per month worked only if the full contract is completed.
