We are seeking a highly experienced Contract Manager to oversee and manage all contract-related activities in our oil and gas projects. The Contract Manager will be responsible for the preparation, negotiation, and administration of contracts, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and company policies. The ideal candidate will work closely with project teams, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure smooth contract execution while mitigating risks and maximizing value for the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contract Preparation and Drafting:
    • Develop and draft contracts for various stages of the project lifecycle, including procurement, construction, and services agreements.
    • Ensure that contracts reflect the project’s objectives, timelines, and financial goals.
    • Collaborate with legal teams to ensure that all contracts comply with industry regulations and internal standards.
  • Contract Negotiation:
    • Lead negotiations with vendors, contractors, and suppliers to secure the best possible terms for the company.
    • Address any contractual disputes, changes, or claims that arise during project execution.
    • Develop negotiation strategies to achieve favorable terms and reduce contractual risks.
  • Contract Administration:
    • Monitor contract performance and ensure that all parties fulfill their contractual obligations.
    • Manage contract amendments, extensions, and variations in accordance with project needs.
    • Maintain an organized and accurate contract database for tracking all contract-related activities.
  • Risk Management:
    • Identify potential contractual risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize financial and legal exposure.
    • Ensure that contracts include appropriate risk allocation clauses and contingency plans.
    • Advise project teams on contract risks and recommend best practices for risk management.
  • Compliance and Legal Support:
    • Ensure compliance with local laws, industry regulations, and company policies.
    • Coordinate with internal and external legal counsel on contract-related legal issues.
    • Provide support during audits and resolve any legal disputes that may arise.
  • Reporting and Documentation:
    • Prepare and present regular reports on contract performance, including cost control, claims, and variations.
    • Document all negotiations, approvals, and contract changes to ensure a clear audit trail.
    • Report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to contract management and project success.
  • Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:
    • Work closely with project managers, procurement teams, finance, and legal departments to ensure alignment with contractual obligations.
    • Facilitate communication between internal teams and external partners to ensure a smooth contract execution process.
Requisitos laborales
  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in contract management within the oil and gas sector, EPC, or related industries.
  • Strong understanding of contract law, terms, and conditions, as well as industry-specific regulations and standards.
  • Proven experience with contract negotiation, drafting, and administration.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
Requisitos deseables
  • Experience with FIDIC, NEC, or other standard forms of contracts used in the oil and gas industry.
  • Professional certification (e.g., Certified Commercial Contracts Manager - CCCM) or equivalent is an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of risk management and financial principles.
