Job description:

  • Support acquisition, installation, maintenance, and administration of large enterprise SAN environment.
  • Troubleshoot, perform root cause analysis and identify storage related problems
  • Allocate SAN storage to servers and provide system security and access
  • Use SAN management tools to analyze performance and identify bottlenecks or slowdowns and take appropriate action to resolve
  • Plan, coordinate and upgrade components of the SAN as needed with software, hardware and microcode upgrades, etc. Work with vendors as needed in this process
  • Accountable for SAN capacity planning and growth projection
  • Participate in team collaboration to share on engineering efforts, technical challenges and breakthroughs
  • Participate in 24/7 oncall rotation, major incidents and reviews (postmorterms)
  • Work with vendors and team members to troubleshoot issues related to the operations (Problem management)
  • Ensure assets are updated promptly in CMDB (Asset Management)
  • Ensure all changes to systems are recorded and properly executed with approval (Change Management)
  • Review the performance of systems and plan for technological refresh and cater for future expansion (Capacity Management)
  • Participate in Business Continuity Planning and DR strategy including documenting of DR procedures, and executing DR drills

Profil:

Organisational skills:

  •  Acts as a subject matter expert and expertly articulates solutions through written or verbal methods
  • Trouble shoots complex problems quickly and effectively
  • Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, evaluates alternatives including cost and risk, supportability and analyses for the systems
  • Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal
  • Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of product requirements into systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints resistance
  • Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications

  • French and English are compulsory

Technical skills:

Mandatory:

  • HP (EVAs, 3 PAR)
  • Hitachi (VSPs, HUSVM)
  • Experience with Brocade switch (DCXs) && Cisco SAN Switch configuration and support such as Virtual SAN, Fiber channel zoning, LUN masking, HBA configuration and tuning
  • Tiering, deduplication, compression, thin prov, density IO, storage management, strong knowledge in replication, DRP, data retention, archiving etc

Desired:

  • LINUX/UNIX
  • Scripting skills (ksh, bach, perl, python)
