Who are we?
Clinic of Psychiatric South consists of four general psychiatric departments: Affective disorders, Anxiety and Personality disorders, Acute psychiatry, and Psychosis. In addition, we have a depart-ment for Forensic psychiatry and a department for Children and Adolescents. We are currently fac-ing a large organizational relocation to a new and contemporary hospital, which will happen in differ-ent stages.

The Department of Psychosis is part of Psychiatric Clinic South and works specialized in the as-sessment and treatment of patients with various psychotic disorders. Currently, the department has 2 wards and 2 outpatient clinics. The vacant specialist positions are located in the city of Aalborg.

The job
We are looking for one medical specialist to the outpatient clinics and one medical specialist to the ward S1.
As our new specialist in the outpatient clinic, you will work in a multidisciplinary team with nurses, psychologists, and social workers. The outpatient clinic for Psychosis works in accordance with the Dutch-developed FACT model (flexible assertive community treatment), so that all teams work with a higher degree of team-based outpatient flexible efforts towards the individual patient and with full integration of the addiction task. Therefore, you will work with a high degree of flexible treatment planning. In addition, you will be cooperating with colleagues in the ward about inpatients.
As our new medical specialist in the ward S1, you will work in close collaboration with the depart-ment’s leading consultant and ward manager. You will be responsible for the professional tasks that the ward undertakes, both in relation to the day-to-day operations with planning and handling treat-ment, and in relation to the development projects the ward is responsible for.

The clinic is a part of Aalborg University Hospital and as such consists of many students, pre- and post-graduate within all medical professional groups. In both vacancies, you are expected to engage in activities for and teaching medical students and junior doctors.
Your qualifications
To qualify for the position, we expect that you:
- Are an experienced medical specialist within psychiatry.
- Are interested in and have experience within psychotic disorders, addiction, and forensic psychiatry.
- Are professionally committed and can cooperate with many different people with different cultural and
professional backgrounds.
- Have good communicative skills.
- Want to be a part of a dedicated, multidisciplinary team.
- Are interested in and have experience with teaching and guiding junior doctors and medical students.
- Contribute positively to the continued development of a good working environment, for the benefit of the patients
and their treatment.
- If you have experience with or are interested in research, it is a plus but not a requirement.
- If you have experience with preventing coercion it is a plus but not a requirement.

In addition, we expect you to be adaptable, curious about working and living in a new country and with an affinity for learning a new language. Eventually, we expect you to be on call when you have learned the language.

As a general rule, everyone has a 37-hour working week with 6 weeks holiday a year. In addition, we offer:

- Help with attaining your Danish authorization.
- Assistance with paperwork, such as residency permit, taxation, childcare, bank accounts etc.
- Assistance with finding housing for you and your family.
- Basic salary as medical specialist while you learn the language.

Language and requirements
All employees at the hospital are expected to be able to communicate with patients, relatives, and colleagues in Danish. As a doctor with a foreign education, you are required to pass Danish tests at multiple levels in the first year of your employment. It is a prerequisite that you have specialist authorization from a European university and are able to attain a Danish authorization.

During your first months in Denmark, you are to concentrate on Danish classes. You will then grad-ually be introduced to the work within the department, while your language classes continue.

After the first screening, we conduct online interviews, after which the selected candidates will be invited to visit the department in Denmark. The visit will be arranged individually, depending on the candidate’s wishes. Conversations and interviews will be held in English. Similarly, the application and CV must be written in English.
The process will be implemented in the Spring of 2021.
