Childcare Practitioners / Early Years Educators
We are currently recruiting for Early Years Educators and Lead Educators for our service in Drumcondra, caring for children from 6 months to 11 years.
We have a number of positions available caring for the baby, toddler and pre-school age groups.
- Full Time Practitioner Role
- To ensure a safe, secure and healthy environment for the care, safety and welfare of the children
- Provide for the holistic needs of the children
- Actively engage the children in developmentally appropriate learning activities to facilitate the potential development of each child.
- Promote and help maintain an organised, clean, safe, well equipped and culturally sensitive learning environment
- Observe and record children’s progress
- To communicate effectively with children, parents and staff alike.
- Meet established policies and procedures, creating an environment of best practice.
- Full Time Lead Educator Role
The lead educator position requires an educator to have a degree qualification with minimum 3 years experience. Each room in the service has a lead educator and a room leader within it, the lead educator would be responsible for curriculum and the room leader would be responsible for governance. Each week the curriculum specialist will hold a lead educator meeting along with two Curriculum Support staff (who work with supporting the rooms on a daily basis) where we conduct research, share ideas, learn about various curriculum models and plan for any events coming up. Lead educator is a level up from practitioner and the pay scale would also increase, in comparison to a practitioner role.
The ideal candidates will have:
Lead Educators:
- Fetac Level 7/8 qualification in Early Childhood Care and Education (QQI recognised – please check on DCYA qualifications section)
- At least three years’ experience
- Knowledge of Aistear and Siolta frameworks
- Good communication skills
- The ability to be flexible
- Experience working with children with additional needs would be desirable/an added advantage but is not necessary.
Practitioners:
- FETAC qualification in Early Childhood Care and Education (QQI recognised – please check on DCYA qualifications section)
- At least three years’ experience
