According to the latest available EUROSTAT data (for March), the unemployment rate was the lowest in the whole EU, at 2.3% (EU average 6.4%). Labour is thus in demand in all regions of the Czech Republic. The lowest unemployment is in the districts Praha-východ (1,1 %), Praha-západ and Pelhřimov (1,5 %), Benešov (1,6 %) and Rychnov nad Kněžnou (1,7 %).

Employers are in demand for highly skilled positions and - given the time of year - for seasonal workers, especially in the construction, catering and tourism sectors, as well as in agriculture, horticulture, forestry and the spa industry.

According to the latest available EUROSTAT data (for March 2022), the unemployment rate was the lowest in the EU at 2.3%. Employers continue to be interested in new hires, mostly in manual and highly skilled professions. There is a long-term demand for skilled craftsmen. The highest percentage of unemployed in April was in the Ústí nad Labem Region (5.3%), the Moravian-Silesian Region (4.9%) and the Karlovy Vary Region (4%).

On the other hand, the lowest unemployment rate remains in the Pardubice Region (2.3%).

Jobseekers with lower qualifications, especially those with an apprenticeship without a high school diploma and primary education, were most often unemployed. In terms of the breakdown by occupation, at the end of April 2022, the largest number of workers registered with the Labour Office were auxiliary and unskilled workers. The average age of the unemployed was 43.8 years.
