We exist for the health and well-being for all who live and work in Västerbotten. Our main areas of responsibility are healthcare and regional development in the county.
Region Västerbotten is a politically governed organization, and our mission is to offer and develop health, care, and regional development. We also offer university healthcare with cutting-edge research both nationally and internationally.
We are driven by creating a safe and strong region that people want to live in, move to, work in, visit and collaborate with.
To live in Västerbotten means to live close to everything, nature, city life and culture. Our county spans from the coast in the East, through deep forests, and all the way to the alps in the West. It is large in terms of area but has a small population. The people who live here are rich both in space and time. The social environment is family friendly, and we offer flexible working conditions that take rest and leisure time into account. This makes life in Västerbotten sustainable.
