What is Career in Denmark?
Career in Denmark is the outcome of the project Best Brains Southern Denmark. The project is a co-operation between Developing Fyn, Esbjerg Business Counsil, Soenderborg Business and Tourist Centre and The Forum for Growth Region Southern Denmark. The project is funded by the European Social Fund and the Region of Southern Denmark, and it is a part of the Region of Southern Denmark’s talent promoting program “work-live-stay”.
The aim of the project is to attract more highly educated labour to the region of southern Denmark. In the project a network of businesses has been established, who are on the outlook for new skilled workforce mainly within the field of IT and engineering.
Some of the companies in the network are
- Esbjerg area: Ramboell Oil & Gas, Semco Maritime, Babcock & Wilcox Voelund, Andritz Feed Technologies.
- Soenderborg area: Danfoss, Siemens, Linak.
- Funen area: Team Online, Hedal Kruse Brohus, Interacoustics, lemma.com.
Which candidates are the companies in the three geographical areas looking for?
- IT-engineers, software engineers and computer scientists
- electrical engineers

- mechanical engineers
- civil / structural engineers
- Chemical engineers

Southern Denmark’s clusters
Southern Denmark has three strong clusters: Energy & Offshore (Esbjerg), Energy efficiency & Electronics (Soenderborg) and IT & Welfare technology (Funen). Jobs in these clusters may be found throughout the region, but each cluster has a main city - much like Silicon Valley has Palo Alto.
