About the job
Purpose of Role:
- The RIM Monitoring Operator will provide responsive, professional and competent technical support for various server systems and their operating system software.
- The role holder works with no supervision and is a knowledge leader with depth of specialization / a wide range of systems and supports less experienced members of the community in maintaining the availability of the IT service experienced by end users
Skills:
- Good Proficiency in Verbal and Written English including Technical Vocabulary
Requirements
Knowledge of one of the following:
- Extended Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Operating Systems and/or Linux / Unix Operating Systems including recovery
- Extended Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory and Microsoft Security Model
- Extended Knowledge of UNIX/Linux Security Protocols and Model
- Good Knowledge of Networking Protocols (TCP/IPV4 including IPV6)
- Good knowledge of Virtualization Technologies such as Citrix, Hyper-V
- Good knowledge of server hardware, especially around RAID, and hardware resources
- Good Knowledge of Networking Hardware
- Strong Customer Relationship – able to establish quick working relationships with customer
- Excellent communication – ability to communicate clearly with customers, colleagues and managers
- Excellent problem solving – ability to fix issues, being resourceful, and not giving up easily
- Drive and determination for technologies and services
- Initiative to constantly improve solution methods, and solution times
- Working well under time pressure
- Ability to prioritize tasks based on business requirements.
