What we are looking for
To manage databases across various systems, CM is seeking a specialist database
administrator responsible for ensuring databases are permanently, securely, and efficiently
available to the users of CM. The consistency of data between various databases must be
guaranteed.
Most databases are Oracle DB, with a minority being MS SQL Server. Other database
systems are emerging to support technical dashboarding, as well as no-SQL Databases. We
are looking for a database specialist with a broad interest who can adapt to technology as
needed. An interest in server and storage management is an added value.
Main tasks:
 Reactive Call Handling
o You provide 2nd and 3rd line support for technical service calls concerning
databases.
o You are responsible for coordinating problem resolution between different
ICT disciplines and with 3rd line support from external suppliers.

 Proactive Database Monitoring: You monitor database performance using standard
tools.
 Database Backup, Recovery, and Cloning
 Data/Database Replication
 Change Requests: You propose improvement initiatives.

 Database Consultancy: You provide technical recommendations to developers to
ensure secure and efficient use of DBs.
 Participation in Projects & Release Management:
o You are responsible for preparing and executing the deploy and backout plan.
o You formulate a GO/NO GO advice based on the test plan and execution of
technical tests.

 Database Architecture Development in consultation with the architecture team:
o You define and implement database standards and take necessary initiatives to
stay updated with new technologies.

Job requirements

 You hold a bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent through experience.
 You have at least 5 years of work experience as an Oracle Database Administrator.
 You have thorough knowledge of hardware, software applications, and associated
tools related to Oracle Databases.
 You have a good knowledge of Linux essentials, Oracle DB Administration, Oracle
Enterprise Manager, managing database performance, architecture.
 You have extensive experience with application performance tuning in a complex
environment.
 You have good knowledge of shell scripting, Pl/SQL. Apex is a plus.
 You have good knowledge of Oracle Real Application Cluster, Oracle DataGuard,
Oracle 19c, Oracle GoldenGate, Oracle DB Container architecture, Oracle RMAN,
Oracle ASM.
 Knowledge of MS SQL server and data warehousing is an asset.
 You work in a solution- & task-oriented manner in your approach.
 You are capable of multidisciplinary collaboration.
 You are able to organize your work autonomously.
 You pay attention to developing standards and processes.
 You make decisions within your granted authority and can accurately assess when to
