Our multinational partner company is looking for a practical HPC systems administrator, who is interested in an exciting international R & D project in the area of climate change and radically shifting weather paterns. The projects prime focus is the development of a state-of-the-art environmental monitoring platform within Lake George, in the state of New York, USA.
Tasks:
- assisting in automating, implementing, monitoring and administering high performance computing infrastructure,
(clusters, distributed servers, hosting database-backed web applications)
- work from high-level specification/instruction,
- responsible for low level design and implementation,
- work in conjunction with the distributed systems administrator, providing support for distributed servers, graphics workstations, and other Linux-based servers.
Requirements:
- experience with installing, configuring, and maintaining server class storage systems,
- networking (Infiniband, Ethernet) and shell scripting experience,
- Linux software OS and library/application level installation and system maintenance (RedHat, CentOS, or Ubuntu).
