The Development Centre

We are looking to build a “owned and managed” development centre in Estonia to support growth across the organisation by delivering high quality IT services. The new organisation would be a valued partner of the existing IT departments and over time become the go-to IT organisation for new development projects that cannot be supported by current IT resources. We plan for the organisation to be locally managed by local employees supported closely by a number of stakeholders in the IT departments serviced. The purpose of the development centre is to drive growth and innovation in IT for the organisation and as such it will require a high calibre of experience, entrepreneurial, problem solving IT resources.

The existing IT departments are predominately situated in a number of European locations and the ability to travel, to facilitate interaction and potentially to work in conjunction with existing IT teams, is required.

Main tasks

  • Develop and maintain software applications and workflows;

  • At times cooperate with internal stakeholders to document and analyze requirements;

  • Participate in architecture design efforts;

  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies and concepts for development;

  • Support and interact with international locations and vendor partners for interconnection projects into a global collection service framework;

  • Support the change request and issues resolution process for existing deployments.

Who we are looking for:

  • Experienced developers with deep knowledge in web development (JavaScript, PHP, focus on web services) and knowledge in XML, web-technologies (Tomcat, JSF).

  • Deep knowledge in HTML, JavaScript, CSS, XML, XSLT, AJAX, HTML5, web security etc.

  • Practical experience in developing responsive websites / web applications.

  • Database knowledge (SQL / MySQL / MS SQL Server).

  • PHP5, development frameworks e.g. Zend, Symfony.

  • Experience with agile development and SCRUM are a distinct advantage.

  • Good English language skills.
