Vestas Power Solutions (VPS) is where new product ideas are developed, matured, improved, and tested. Within Vestas Power Solutions (VPS), you'll find our department, Performance Testing, as part of Product Verification & Lifecycle Mgmt. 

Our department is responsible for the testing of Vestas wind turbine technologies, modules, and full-scale products, in the field. We are also responsible for the planning, execution and reporting of test campaigns, and we work closely together with a wide range of stakeholders inside and outside Vestas. The power performance, as well as other performance disciplines, plays a central role in deliveries on the future Vestas product roadmap.

Responsibilities

As Power Performance and Lidar Lead Engineer you will be instrumental in providing valuable feedback on prototype turbine performance to the design and product owners. You are expected to be the subject matter expert within the Power Performance testing area and the application of Lidar technology.

  • Subject matter expert within the Power Performance area & Lidar technology application
  • Initiate and coordinate improvements within our toolchain architecture and applications
  • Implement Power Performance verification programs of prototype turbines and technology projects
  • Analysis, quality assurance and reporting of the measured data from wind turbines
  • Ensure quality and deliverables from sub suppliers, typically test institutes
  • Present, explain and advise design owners on the measured results

Qualifications

As an ideal candidate you are expected to have:

  • A Master's degree within wind, structural or mechanical engineering
  • A inquisitive mindset enabling you to solve complex problems
  • Demonstrated experience within the Power Performance discipline on wind turbines
  • Competence within DS/EN IEC 61400-12, DS/EN IEC 61400-50-3 and wind turbine certification processes
  • Experience within measurement uncertainty estimations
  • Advanced user experience of MATLAB & Python 
  • Fluency in English, verbally and in writing

Additional information

The primary preferred work location will be Aarhus, Denmark.  

You can expect up to 10 travel days in a year.
