Truck Driver Job Responsibilities:
Maintain our modern fleet of HVG refuse vehicles, skip trucks, artics, trailers, and plant
machinery in accordance with work specifications set out by manufacturer, ensuring
each vehicle is inspected and serviced to strict schedule.
Troubleshoot and diagnose diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic, and electrical
equipment.
Prepare fleet for CVRT and inspection using rolling road brake test equipment.
Ensure a clean working environment.

Key skills and requirements
- Valid driver's license: A valid commercial driver's license (e.g., HGV/Category C) is required, along with a clean driving record.
- Experience: Previous experience driving commercial vehicles, such as dump trucks or cement mixers, is often necessary.
- Physical ability: The ability to lift and carry heavy materials is sometimes required.
- Communication: Good communication skills are needed for coordinating with loading personnel and other team members.
Core responsibilities
- Transportation: Safely and efficiently transport materials, such as aggregates and concrete, and equipment to and from construction sites.
- Vehicle maintenance: Conduct daily pre-trip inspections and perform basic maintenance tasks like checking fluid levels and tire pressure to ensure the vehicle is in good working order.
- Safety compliance: Adhere to all traffic laws and site-specific safety regulations, which includes wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Record-keeping: Complete delivery paperwork and maintain accurate logs.
- Loading and unloading: Safely load and unload materials, often using communication with other site personnel.
