The task of the ICT-Technical Support Engineers Projects team, your team, is to build, maintain and support the entire IT infrastructure present on board the ships, at the shipyards and in the offices.

As a Technical Support Engineer, you have broad ICT knowledge and an interest in all things IT.

You will be responsible for:

  • Executing infrastructure projects from A to Z via established working methods and procedures.
  • Preparation, configuration, installation and maintenance of the entire ICT infrastructure according to agreed standards.
  • Managing the server hardware, server virtualisation, application virtualisation, network infrastructure.
  • Contributing to a high-performance and stable ICT environment.

To this end, you have the necessary experience, or wish to further expand your knowledge in:

  • Switches and routers
  • Firewalls
  • Storage
  • Server and client hardware
  • WiFi systems
  • Virtualisation (VMWare vSphere, Hyper-v,...)
  • Operating systems such as Windows 10, Windows Server, Linux,...
  • Applications: PRTG, Veeam, Symantec ITMS, MS Office,...
  • Services: DHCP, DNS, Active directory, print servers, file sharing...

You will also come into contact with non-current technologies:

  • WiFi mesh systems between our ships
  • Satellite communication
  • In all this, you will receive on-the-job training. You will be supervised by colleagues with experience who will guide you through this challenging and interesting ICT environment.
Job requirements

You hold a bachelor's degree in an ICT field. You are customer-oriented, approachable, helpful and like to roll up your sleeves. You are creative in finding solutions and you strive for a high level of quality. You can show discretion and you are flexible in time and place. You want to combine all this with the unknown, adventurous by travelling abroad on a regular basis.
