Systems Administrator CentOS
Catena Media is looking for a brilliant System Administrator, to join our excellent IT team! We are looking for someone who is reliable and experienced, to manage the maintenance and operation of our network, servers and services. As our valuable System Administrator, you will play an important role within our growing IT department. You will work closely with developers, designers and other passionate individuals under the lead of Catena Media’s Agile focused CTO. It is required that you enjoy managing a large volume of tasks and projects and that you are solution oriented by nature.
The Ideal candidate for the System Administrator role has a great passion for network administration, database administration and security administration. Keeping networks and their correlated hardware operating without problems is a great motivator as well as having fun at work. The System Administrator is expected to work well in Catena Media’s team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities
• Provide systems/networking expertise and drive operational best practices
• Interact with different members in the team, along with other departments, to understand their requirements
• Pro-actively monitor and audit the health and availability of systems
• Build tools and automation for application stacks for high performance
• Work closely with development teams on high performance requirements
• Perform capacity planning for a rapidly growing productions environment
• Find and test new infrastructure and application technologies to help improve the platform scalability and operations
• Drive analytics culture to facilitate performance tuning and business intelligence
• Develop internal documentation for key systems and services
• Backup and recovery planning and testing
Requirements
• 5 years’+ experience with CentOS system administration
• Experience with public and private cloud computing
• MySQL Database maintenance and tuning
• Experience in Firewalls, iptables, OSSEC and AIDE
• Experience working with DNS and Security administration
• Proven systems and networking expertise
• Experience building local networks and remote networks on virtual clouds with VPC
• Excellent command of written and spoken English
• Time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
